The Club

 

What is the Maidstone Distillery? 

 

We are a unique local start-up business opening  a working Distillery in Maidstone to produce award winning spirits. The Distillery will also include a premium bar and visitor centre offering a small shop space, tours and an experience room.  

 

What is the Founding Membership Club?

 

The Club is a unique way for our supporters to be involved with the Distillery, for members to receive some very special benefits and to help raise funding. 

 

How long is membership valid for?

 

Membership benefits will be valid for one year, however the bespoke Art work will hang on the wall for many years to come together with the knowledge that you will always be referred to as a Founding member. It is our hope that you will visit the distillery, to view the Artwork and enjoy the products and services we offer and we very much look forward to welcoming you.

 

What if I change my mind?

 

Once your payment has been taken, either in full or the first instalment, you will have up to 14 calendar days to change your mind. Please refer to our Founding Member Terms and Conditions for further information. Please consider your purchase carefully before paying for it.

 

When can I sign up until?

 

Founding Membership is available to purchase from launch up until we open.

 

Payment

 

How much is membership?

 

Membership costs £150, either payable as a single one of payment or spread over three equal instalments of £50. 

 

How do the instalments work?

 

At point of purchase you will be charged £50 through our store. By making the purchase you are agreeing to pay a further two instalments of £50. An invoice will be raised and emailed to you within 30 days of your first payment. A final invoice of £50 will be raised within 60 days of your first payment. You will have the option to pay each instalment via bank transfer or via bank card by clicking the link from the invoice. It couldn’t be simpler! Invoices are payable within 7 days of receipt.

 

You’re not open yet, what if you don’t open? Will I get my money back?

 

Yes you will. We want to be honest and transparent that we aren’t open yet, but that the Founding Members’ club is a form of crowdfunding that will help us on our journey to opening. We still aim to open this year and are on track to do so. If in the highly unlikely case though that we don’t end up opening, your money for this membership will be returned to you. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions to find out more.

 

Purchasing Membership

 

Can I buy this for a friend?

 

Yes you can. It is very important to make sure the Shipping address section of the checkout holds the details for the person that the membership should be posted to as well as having the correct name. If you decide to give the gift by hand to someone else and therefore will have it delivered to your own address, please make sure the Shipping address still includes the name of the intended recipient, as it will be handwritten on the membership pack. If in any doubt, or if you need to change anything after placing your order, please send an email to hello@themaidstonedistillery.com.

 

Can I buy more than one?

 

Yes you certainly can! In the case of more than one membership being purchased, you will be contacted by email to discuss the names and addresses of each Member. 

 

Can I buy this for a company?

 

At the moment this can only be purchased against an individual’s name, so there is no reason why a company / business cannot purchase it, but the Founding member must be an individual’s name.

What is included?

 

By becoming a Founding Member you will receive the following benefits:

 

  1. Exclusive access by prize draw to attend events such as foraging with our partners, bottling and labelling events, new recipe tasting, Distillery Tours, etc for one year from when we open. We aim to offer all Founding Members' the opportunity to join at least one event!

  2. Founding Member name included on a copper artwork on permanent display in the Distillery

  3. A bottle of our London Dry recipe gin from our first runs

  4. 10% discount on goods and services for one year from launch (excluding bar purchases)

  5. Exclusive previews of new lines to be sold directly via the Distillery and therefore the first chance to snap these up, including limited editions for one year from launch

  6. Membership pack including a free gift, posted to your nominated address and including a personalised letter from the Distillery Owners

 

Bottle of Gin

 

When will I receive my bottle of gin?

 

The bottle of our signature London Dry gin will be posted to the Shipping address used at the point of purchase. The bottle will be posted around the date we open. All Founding Members will be notified by email once the first bottles are ready to despatch.

 

Can I swap my bottle of gin for something else?

 

No, unfortunately not, the membership includes a 70cl bottle of our signature London Dry recipe. This will be a premium hand crafted gin, and a flagship product of the Distillery. We hope it will be enjoyed or even held onto as a keep sake.

 

Can I have my gin sent to a different address?

 

The gin will be sent to the shipping address used at the checkout unless we are notified in writing no less than 7 days before delivery by sending an email to hello@themaidstonedistillery.com

 

Artwork

 

How will you collect my name for the artwork?

 

The information used as part of the Shipping Address at the point of purchase will become the details for the Founding Member. The name will therefore be taken from the Shipping section at checkout. This name will also be used to personalise the welcome pack. If you need to change the name, do so as soon as possible in writing to hello@themaidstonedistillery.com. Once the Art work has been created it will not be possible to change the name.

 

When will you be putting the artwork up?

 

We will be arranging for a unique and beautiful piece of art made of copper to be made. It will feature the names of our Founding Members and is likely to be installed within two months of our  opening. Watch out for updates via email and our newsletter for news on when it will be installed and unveiled! This will be an important moment for the Distillery: to recognise the Founding Members and their contribution to the Distillery.

 

Founding Member Only Events

What are Founding Member only events?

These events will be carefully curated to reward our Founding Members and offer an insight into how we make our products and operate. The complete list of member only events is yet to be released, but the first three are detailed in the Founding Members welcome pack. The events will include access to foraging events in association with our partners; attendance at tasting panels to select new lines; Distillery Tours and other special events. They will only be available to Founding Members and not to anyone else.

How do I enter them and am I guaranteed to attend an event?

Founding Members will automatically be entered into each prize draw, the only eligible criteria is that you are a Founding Member at the time of the draw. The number of winners may vary depending on the type of event. We will endeavour to involve as many Founding Members as possible, and will offer all Founding Members the opportunity to attend at least one event.

Early Bird Access to Events, products and promotions

 

What does ‘Early bird’ access mean?

Founding Members will enjoy ‘early bird’ access to normal Distillery events and promotions at least 24 hrs, and in some cases longer, before they go on general release to the public. Members will be notified by email.
