Marketing, Sales and Distillery Assistant

Location: Maidstone ME14 1HP

Closing date: 29/05/2020

Full Time with flexible working hours from Monday to Sunday, 40 hours per week.

Salary: £20,000 to £27,000

Located central to the County Town of Kent, Maidstone Distillery is situated in the historic and beautiful setting of the Market Buildings and old Corn Exchange.

After carefully perfecting our first two products, George Bishop London Dry Gin and Ranscombe Wild Small Batch Gin, and refurbishing our space to install our spirit still, tankage and production line, we are very close to launching.

Maidstone has a fascinating history of distilling dating as far back as the 18th Century, and it is this alongside our own personal desire to create unique and delicious spirits, that makes us so unique.

No two days at the Distillery will be the same! This role is to assist with two key parts of the business: our marketing and spirit production.

When we’re not ‘in production’ we will need your efforts to help with marketing us and our products. We already have a supportive and engaged group of followers and subscribers across social media, and also in the local press. You will assist us in promotion activities, social media, and in sales activities.

Production involves helping our Head Distiller prepare, distil, condition and polish our spirits and the necessary record keeping involved. Other duties will include assisting with our bottling and labelling line.

The nature of the business requires lifting heavy goods and due to alcohol licensing laws you must be 18 or over at the time of appointment. The hours will also vary, particularly on distilling days as these can run into the evening, so flexibility will be very useful.
